GLOBALIZE THIS!

When I was first assigned to do this project with TIG I was a first thinking that this would be a great opportunity to be working with TIG because we were the pilot class. The first day that TIG came I was very happy because we would be missing the whole morning. So we would be missing language, math, more math, and more language. The fourth or fifth time they came was in the afternoon which I was especially happy about because we were missing the 4 main subject’s science, history, geography, and french. I was really taking this project for granted because I was really thinking about the subjects we would be missing. Until the work of the real project that was going to be done.

When we were put into groups of three I was hoping that I wouldn’t be put into a group that would be slackers and irresponsible people. But when I heard these two names (Carmen, and Anson) I was very happy because I knew that they would get the job done and not really fool around. The next thing that I was hoping for was one of the understandings in TIG that my group and I had to do. ENVIRONMENT was our topic. When I heard that I was going to be doing this topic I was glad because our group would be researching on an easy topic other than another group that would be researching on a hard one such as ICT’s for development. With some glitches in our way my group and I were going really well with this topic. With Anson as our technician, Carmen as our researcher, and me as the designer, and organizer we were able to go really fast in our film, display boards, business cards, articles, and lettering of our topic, and were able to get them done.

After six months of doing this project and finishing them we were on to the film festival “GLOBALIZE THIS!” On the night before the film festival we went to the gym of our school Macklin P.S to get ready and set up our two display boards and business cards and our brochures on to our booths and add our lettering. Once we were able to get all that done we were ready to make our introductions for the inveigling of our films. During the film festival when people came to see what we had been doing for the last six months we were assigned to give out brochures and business card and answer questions given to us by adults. I was very surprised when a reporter from a newspaper called “The Mirror” also a member of TIG had come to ask me questions. Some question that she asked me I couldn’t even answer due to such high vocabulary. After a half an hour of answering questions it was now time for the inveigling of our films. After the ten long 5 minute films were shown you can’t believe all the compliments we were given by all these adults. They were completely surprised and blown away by all the work we did during the last six months. I was thankful that everyone liked it. I was extremely happy when someone told me that by watching our environment film they are actually thinking of trying to walk instead of driving everywhere or even drive and willing to try making A
BETTER WORLD FOR A BETTER FUTURE! And I also hope that they do.s

TIG

Today TIG will be coming to our school. We will be learning a lot of new things like moviemaker, and photoshop. For me it would be kind of weird because I am not really the kind of person that spend all there time on the computer like other people in my class. With TIG here our class will be spending our whole morning in our school's computer lab, which I hope that we will also spending in the afternoon too. Also today we learning how to make flash films with some of our art works and some of our past filming.

Stereotypes

You use this everyday. You do this everyday, or once in your life time. Stereotyping. This can be said about someone you don't know, or someone you do know. Like for instance your friends, if they dress differently you might think, " did she get dressed with the light off or something?" Or even say the smallest word like," Ewww." That's stereotyping. My class and I were learning about how stereotypes are formed, and how it can be thought of so easily, even if you don't really know what you saying. I think that its wrong to talk about people you don't know like a stranger and automatically think that they are dangerous. They might be nice or sweet. Even people that have tattoos or double or triple pierced, you might think that they are punks, or also dangerous. Stereotyping can also be nice, like if you see someone pretty, or good looking you would probably think, " wow he/ she is so handsome/ beautiful. So mainly stereotyping can be good or bad. Stereotyping can be also said to a lot of different things, like environmental stereotyping. When people see a lot of smoke you might automatically think that, because of smokers or factory owners are causing this whole smoke and bad air situation. For me I think people should stick to good and nice stereotyping instead of bad stereotyping.
